SaaS. Software as a service. We have all heard of it and many of us are beginning to dip our toes into this new and exciting area of enterprise software. There are many benefits to SaaS over traditional software selling models, including always being up to date (rather than expensive yearly upgrades to entire IT infrastructure), simplifying deployment, simplifying integration and many others. Yet what is the major thing underlying most of the benefits? The cost savings! Either through direct cost savings or time savings (where time is, of course, money), there are a lot of savings to be made by strategic utilisation of some of these newer SaaS applications.
